SummaryThe Construction Manager will be directly responsible for monitoring and refining the long-range and short-term plans to ensure the success of the construction project. The Construction Manager will direct and coordinate day-to-day activities in the field, manage information flow, control costs, control the schedule, implement and monitor safety programs, and verify that completed work meets the quality level required by the construction documents.
They will perform cross-function tasks to coordinate with project teams, including General Contractors, Vendors, and Consultants. The role reports to the DC Ops Field Management (FOI) and supports the Senior Field Ops Construction Program Manager in delivering data center projects.
- 5-10+ years of experience with construction management of large-scale projects
- Experience in data center, critical facility, or mission-critical environments
- Experience overseeing General Contractor and external vendors
- Proficiency in project documentation, quality assurance, and progress reporting
- Strong cost tracking, scheduling, and problem-solving skills
- Manage and coordinate operations personnel and resources for the project.
- Assist with preconstruction efforts.
- Manage all project phases from inception through closeout.
- Review GC/Contractor Project Executive Plans.
- Review trade contracts, bid packages, and oversee procurement.
- Develop scope of work and review proposals for General Contractors, Equipment Vendors, Commissioning and Inspection Agents.
- Oversee performance: status, procurement, equipment delivery, schedule, cost control, safety, and change management.
- Maintain relationships with internal partners, designers, consultants, and the GC team.
- Lead POC for GC/Contractor OAC meetings: progress, pre-construction, and pre-award.
- Coordinate with internal teams for inspection and test data review to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
- Review GC/Contractor site logistics, procurement, safety, and schedule plans for compliance and acceptance.
- Coordinate MSOW submissions, reviews, and scheduling escorts with vendors.
- Manage site blackout dates and stop-work notifications.
- Conduct regular project walks to review progress, schedule verification, invoice and quality reviews.
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by mentoring others and enforcing the IFE program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and collaborate within a team.
- Knowledge of design, bidding, construction processes, quality control, costs, risks, schedule, and safety for on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Familiarity with construction delivery methods:
Design-build, design-bid-build, CM-at-risk, and Design Assist. - Business and management principles: strategic planning, resource allocation, risk assessment and management.
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Procore, SIM PMIS, Outlook, Teams, One Note, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- CCM, PMI, or PMP certification preferred; similar applicable certifications acceptable.
This is a contract position based out of Beaver Dam, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $115.00 - $115.00/hr.
