Position: Material Handler - 25/hour

Material Handler – Data Center Construction

The material handler supports a data center construction site by managing the flow of materials so the right supplies arrive at the right place and time. This role focuses on unloading, organizing, and moving construction and electrical materials to designated areas, while working closely with onsite electricians to ensure they have the equipment they need to complete their work efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Unload construction and electrical supply materials safely and efficiently upon delivery to the job site.
  • Move and stage materials to designated areas across the construction site using appropriate material handling methods.
  • Keep material storage areas organized, clean, and clearly labeled to ensure easy access and accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Coordinate closely with onsite electricians to understand upcoming material needs and ensure required supplies are available when needed.
  • Support day-to-day logistics planning to make sure materials are in the right place at the right time to keep the project on schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with construction teams, leadership, and other site personnel to align on material priorities and delivery timing.
  • Follow all site safety rules and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while performing material handling tasks.
  • Work reliably and maintain strong attendance to provide consistent support to the project team.
  • Assist with general labor tasks related to material handling and job site support as directed by site leadership.
  • Collaborate with job site coordinator leads and other logistics personnel to improve material flow and reduce delays.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of consistent work history demonstrating reliability and strong attendance.
  • Experience in logistics, general labor, material handling, or construction environments.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with electricians, leadership, and other onsite personnel.
  • Ability to work effectively on an active construction site, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfort working in a structured environment with defined hours and expectations for reliability and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience handling electrical supply materials or working alongside electrical trades on construction projects.
  • Exposure to large-scale construction or data center projects.
  • Experience working within a logistics, warehouse, or job site coordination role.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple projects over time within the state.

Typical hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 40–50 hour workweek, and start times may vary based on project needs.

The dress code includes steel-toe boots and work pants suitable for a construction environment. Required PPE such as a hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility gear is provided, ensuring you can perform your duties safely on site.
