Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Long Term Care

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a long-term care position in a nursing home setting, requiring a WI or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Job Details

• Position is in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility attached to a hospital,

• 70-bed facility with mostly private rooms caring for dementia, frail, elderly, and rehab patients,

• Day shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend and at least half of holidays during assignment required,

• Block scheduling with 4 nurses and 7 aides during days and evenings, 2 nurses and 3-4 aides at night,

• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20; LPN-to-patient ratio is 1:20; CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:8,

• No on-call required,

• Uses ECS charting system,

• Floating may be required,

Job Requirements

• Active WI or compact state RN license required by start date,

• Current BLS (AHA) certification required,

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN,

• Prior experience with elderly patient populations required,

• Two professional references required, including one from a recent supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor,

• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 6 months and require approval for rehire,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include charting, assessments, charge duties, medication administration, and clinical skills such as IVs, catheter care, and ostomy management,

• Work alongside an interdisciplinary team including therapy, administration, social work, dietary, and activities staff,

• RT and pharmacy are available onsite 24/7,

• Clean, professional attire in any solid color is required,

• Must clock in and out at the facility for shifts,

• Unit-specific orientation provided based on skill level,

• Holiday coverage is required for at least half of the holidays during the contract,

• Local candidates living within 80 miles are eligible but will receive a reduced rate,
