We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.
The Production Machine Operator I - Line 5 (1st Shift) is responsible for operating machinery and supplying the line with products per customer specifications. This position is based out of our Beaver Dam, WI manufacturing facility.
Essential Functions- Ensure that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, and safety, and follow the appropriate food safety requirements for an accident‑free workplace.
- Verify conformance to customer specifications, including proper application of ingredients/materials.
- Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
- Operates other bakery‑related equipment such as proofer, divider, and conveyors, etc.
- Responsible for making any adjustments needed to run production efficiently.
- Responsible for accurately recording any downtime of the line.
- Responsible for monitoring the rounder to ensure no jam ups.
- Maintain process control paperwork.
- Ensures that machinery is maintained in a sanitary condition.
- Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Follows company policies, and GMP’s in addition to performing housekeeping in the area.
- Responsible for the use of required PPE as per assigned duties.
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
- Must be detail‑oriented and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Notify management of any Food/People Safety or Food Quality concerns.
- Sets up and breaks down machinery.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
- High school, GED, or equivalent.
- One to three months of food manufacturing or packaging experience.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime when scheduled.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant.
- Ability to write and read standard information to fill out company documents.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including but not limited to pounds, ounces, and grams, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and temperatures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving equipment in the production area. The work environment is hot. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions when performing sanitation on equipment.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push a bowl that weighs 1200 lbs.
Employees must be able to wear hearing protection.
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is $17.88 per hour. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
