Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI and provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, clubs, mass stores, and industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator II is responsible for operating and maintaining multiple or more technically advanced machines on the production line to ensure products are manufactured per customer specifications. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience operating production equipment and who is ready to take on greater responsibility within the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality and safety and follow the appropriate food safety requirements for an accident‑free workplace.
  • Set up machinery on production lines that maintains conformance to customer specifications, including proper application of ingredients/materials.
  • Break down machinery at the end of shift if applicable to production needs.
  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
  • Adjust machinery as needed to run production efficiently.
  • Record any downtime of the line accurately.
  • Maintain machinery in a sanitary condition.
  • Recommend measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Follow company policies and GMP’s in addition to performing housekeeping in the area.
  • Use required PPE as per assigned duties.
  • Follow verbal instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
  • Be detail‑oriented and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Notify management of any Food/People Safety or Food Quality concerns.
  • Use handheld/iPad to record consumption of materials.
  • Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Troubleshoot machinery in a timely manner and notify the line supervisor of the troubleshooting process performed to resolve the issue.
  • Provide coverage for Machine Operator I & II during breaks, time off or absences as needed.
Education
  • High school, GED, or equivalent.
Skills and Experience
  • 18 months of food manufacturing or packaging experience.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime when scheduled.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read/write standard information to fill out company documents.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic – add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure including pounds, ounces, and grams, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and temperatures.
  • Ability to manage and operate multiple lines.
  • Implement and adhere to necessary safety precautions.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving equipment in the production area. The work environment is hot and the employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions when performing sanitation on equipment. Employees must be able to wear hearing protection.

Pay and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this role is $18.50‑$18.50. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; pre‑tax spending accounts; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; short‑term and long‑term disability; and life insurance.

Work is classified as Light‑Medium Physical Demand Level:Occasional (1‑33%) – Frequent (34‑66%) – Constant (67‑100%).
