1st and 2nd Shift Packaging Technician

Looking for a new opportunity? A  has partnered with a client in Beaver Dam looking to bring on 1st and 2nd shift Packaging Technicians. 1st shift pay is $15.50 an hour, regular hours are 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday. 2nds shift pay is $17.50 an hour, regular hours are 8 PM to 6 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Learn, know and understand the types of paper for recycling. Know what can and can not be recycled.
  • Bail and load scrap truck.
  • Know how to properly restack skids of paper or cartons.
  • Know how to properly inspect skids of paper for quality and defects.
  • Know how to properly package each skid, whether it be with kraft wrap, plastic wrap, shrink wrap and etc.
  • Know how to properly operate all banding equipment.
  • Cross train to back up cartonizing, packaging, guillotine, shrink wrap, aerator and any other areas.
  • Ability to keep a clean, organized, and stocked work area.
Safety
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protection equipment, as defined by the guidelines stated in the Safety Handbook.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner as described in the Safety Handbook.
  • Ability to not engage in unsafe acts or behavior as to endanger oneself or co-worker.
  • Actively participate in monthly safety meetings and safety practices.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling and circling are all part of the normal requirements for building our skids.
  • Frequent repetitious use of pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to do all the above with a maximum of 50 lbs individually. Items/jobs that weigh more will require assistance.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk continuously.
  • Further requirements could be necessary for a specific job.
  • All the above work is based on an 8 hour shift, but could extend up to 12 hours in a day.
