American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Long-Term Care/SNF night shift position in a nursing home setting, requiring at least 1 year of experience with an elderly patient population.
Details- Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital
- Unit serves a long-term care/post-acute patient population including residents with dementia, frailty, age-related conditions, and those in rehabilitation
- RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20
- Performs clinical skills including IV therapy, catheterizations, ostomy care, assessments, medication administration, and charge nurse duties
- EMR system is ECS (facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
- 12-hour night shifts on a block schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Must be available for at least half of holidays during the assignment
- Floating is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Active WI or Compact RN license required by start date
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Experience working with elderly patients required
- 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience
- Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and RT (on-site 24/7)
- Physician available after hours and DON/charge nurse/house supervisor on-site
- On-site pharmacy with medication dispensing system available
- Orientation length varies based on skills
- Any solid color scrubs required; must be clean and professional
- Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which affects the travel pay rate
