Commercial Appliance Technician

Performance Food Group is seeking a Commercial Appliance Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment supporting our distribution operations and food service customers. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure all work meets safety and food service standards. This role partners closely with warehouse and operations teams, provides timely field support, maintains accurate service records, and helps minimize equipment downtime in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using test equipment and technical manuals
• Document all work performed in work order/CMMS systems with accurate parts and labor details
• Ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and food safety standards on all jobs
• Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams to schedule service with minimal disruption
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in safe, organized condition
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and customers on repair status and recommendations
• Support emergency and after-hours calls as needed in a fast-paced distribution environment
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term reliability improvements
