Overview
STARBASE Wright-Patt / Beavercreek City Schools
Position Type:
Support Staff / Teacher Assistant
Schedule:
Works 90 days every six months, 7.5 hours per day, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date:
Aug. 10, 2026
Notes:
This is an Employee-At-Will position contingent upon continued DoD funding. This is a specialized DoD outreach role and is a separate entity from regular classroom teacher assistant positions regarding salary and leave.
- Support Instruction
:
Assist 5th-grade students with the DoD STARBASE STEM curriculum using a collaborative co-teaching model. - Manage Classrooms
:
Set up, tear down, and inventory lesson materials routinely to keep shared classrooms organized. - Build Rapport
:
Maintain a fun, professional relationship with participating students, visiting classroom teachers, and staff. - Assist Camps
:
Provide instruction and operational support for summer camp participants as assigned. - Represent the Program
:
Participate in at least two community outreach events, such as Tech Fest or the STEM Hoopla Challenge.
