Overview

Our client is seeking a VP of Finance to lead the financial operations and strategy of the organization in a job shop manufacturing setting. This role will ensure profitability and efficiency in a dynamic, project-based production environment. A successful candidate will have expertise in cost accounting, inventory management and financial planning tailored to custom manufacturing processes. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role offers the opportunity to lead hands-on team while daily present on-site in Beavercreek, OH to analyze performance metrics and deliver financial reporting while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the financial strategy to optimize profitability in a job shop environment
  • Oversee cost accounting, including job costing, labor tracking, and material usage analysis
  • Manage budget and forecasting with alignment to production capacity and customer demand
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including overhead allocation and margin analysis
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with operations to improve efficiency and reduce waste in production processes
  • Lead financial reporting, including project profitability and variance analysis
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master s preferred)
  • Proven experience in financial leadership in a manufacturing environment, preferably a job shop
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management and industry-specific compliance
  • Advanced competency in ERP, MRP MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus
