POSITION PURPOSEResponsible for providing back-office lending processing and support effectively and professionally. Gathers data and completes material such as reports, agreements, letters, and required government forms and documents accurately and promptly to ensure regulatory compliance on accounts. Is responsible for providing a high quality of member service to ensure Credit Union established goals are being met. Is aligned with and promotes U1 values.

- Understand all lending products/services offered by U1.
- Handles various reports.
- Coordinate and process loans and ensure each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved, closed, disbursed, and retained.
- Assists in servicing loans by processing payoffs, refinances, and contact updates.
- Maintains escrow accounts, processes and pays property taxes and homeowners insurance.
- Assumes responsibility for follow-up on still pending titles and appraisals.
- Comply with policies, procedures, and meet federal and state regulations.
- Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records including mortgage payoffs and releases.
- Performs overall quality control for lending.
- Supports loan area as needed.
- Meets production goals and expectations.
- Effectively and professionally assists members and U1 employees by the following:
- Collect information/data.
- Assists with research and resolution.
- Secures and answers questions.
- Reports results to members, employees, vendors, appropriate team members and/or leadership.
- Utilizes all channels of communication such as in person, phone calls, emails, or other electronic tools while maintaining a positive and professional U1 image.
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Loan training and certification are preferred.
- College degree in business related area or an equivalent combination of work experience and training preferred.
Required:
- 1 year related experience or lending experience required.
- Previous processing experience in the mortgage field preferred.
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, service, attention to detail, and people skills
- Ability to professionally interact with other members, vendors, departments and personnel
- Ability to multi-task amongst projects
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria
- Understanding of lending procedures and mortgage loan processing functions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet applications

Physical and Intellectual Demands:Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio and proportion and percentage. Able to perform simple algebra. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with sometimes complex problems. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses, and using good vocabulary.
Ability to read a variety of job-related print and electronic materials. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
