Are you a strategic HR leader who thrives at the intersection of people, compliance, and organizational impact? A well-established financial institution known for its member-focused, servant leadership culture is seeking a Director, Human Resources to lead the daily oversight of its HR programs - from benefits and compensation to talent acquisition, compliance, and HR systems.
This role reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources, and offers the chance to shape both strategy and execution across the full scope of HR operations.
What You'll Do- Oversee administration of comprehensive benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, FMLA, disability, life insurance, wellness, COBRA, and more), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and lead cost-effective plan revisions aligned with market trends
- Counsel employees and managers on employee relations matters, maintaining confidentiality and navigating investigations and conflict resolution with sound judgment
- Partner with the HR Manager to oversee internal and external talent acquisition processes, hiring policies, and the Affirative Action Plan
- Support the VP, HR in developing short- and long-term HR strategy across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and HRIS, including budgeting and reporting
- Administer compensation policies and oversee the annual performance management process and related vendor relationships
- Drive HR systems improvement through automation, audits, and process refinement
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiations across HR functions, including due diligence, risk, compliance, and contract reviews
- Lead departmental RFP/RFI processes, ensuring smooth and well-documented implementations
- Partner with HR Management and Business Controls to ensure HR processes remain compliant and well-documented
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field (MS/MBA a plus)
- Minimum 7 years of HR experience with strong knowledge of employment law, talent acquisition, benefits, and compensation
- Minimum 2 years of management experience leading project teams or staff
- Advanced HR certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CEBS, etc.)
- Working knowledge of HRIS or related database applications
- Strong communication skills, both one-on-one and in group settings
- A demonstrated drive to implement new initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and service
