Position Summary
As an HPC Engineer, you will support the operation of HPC workflows that power large-scale aerospace simulation campaigns. Your tasks include configuring and submitting jobs through HPC schedulers, packaging scientific software into containers, troubleshooting job failures and performance issues, and providing support to researchers who depend on these environments.
Responsibilities- Configure and manage HPC schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS, LSF) and submit batch jobs.
- Package scientific software into containers (Docker, Singularity, Apptainer).
- Troubleshoot job failures, performance bottlenecks, and storage issues.
- Collaborate with senior HPC and Dev Sec Ops engineers on scheduler configuration, storage systems, parallel computing, and CI/CD integration.
- Support researchers in using HPC resources effectively.
- 1+ year(s) of experience in Linux-based HPC, cluster, or scientific computing environments.
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash or Python.
- Strong knowledge of Linux command‑line operations and shell scripting.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering, or Physics.
- Experience with HPC job schedulers and batch job submission.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Singularity, Apptainer).
- Knowledge of parallel computing concepts (MPI, OpenMP).
- Familiarity with parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS) or high‑throughput storage.
- Experience with GPU computing (CUDA, ROCm) or GPU‑accelerated workflows.
- Experience in scientific software environments (modules, Spack, Easy Build).
- Experience with DoD HPC environments such as DREN or DSRC.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git Lab.
- Security+ or CE Certification.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The role requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering, or Physics.
CompensationProjected annualized salary range: $61,900.00 – $ (USD).
