Job Overview
Leidos is dedicated to making the world a safer place by helping our customers in the defense industry achieve their critical missions. This role is a cleared Systems Administrator based in Beavercreek, OH, supporting a diverse portfolio of programs through laboratory infrastructure design, system maintenance, security compliance, hardware integration, and experimentation.
Primary Responsibilities- Implement and maintain SIL systems and infrastructure for complex networks.
- Document and communicate proposed solutions with integrated, cross‑functional engineering teams in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.
- Stay up to date on security, system, and management best practices and technologies.
- Participate in network and infrastructure design and review to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skillsets.
- Maintain security patches, user management, etc., in accordance with Leidos, government, and contract requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
- Experience with scripting in Bash and Power Shell.
- Experience managing systems in both Linux and Windows environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in informal one‑on‑one discussions or in small group settings.
- Work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant certificates in systems administration (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Server+, CCNA, RHCSA).
- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies, preferably Scrum or Kanban.
- Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, Certificate Authority, PXE, Active Directory, Linux Identity Management (RHEL IDM, FreeIPA), and related tools.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Proxmox preferred).
- Experience with security scanning, monitoring, and patching in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience working with live and virtual constructive environments to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Familiarity with DoD systems and environments (STIG, FIPS, CUI processing, etc.).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience standing up and maintaining environments in limited or offline settings.
- Strong understanding of networking and how to build and configure a complex lab network.
- Prior experience working with the DoD.
