Systems Administrator

• Manage and tune in-house computer systems and network connections for high availability and security
• Plan and implement system provisioning and maintenance policies and procedures
• Install, configure, monitor, administer, and maintain servers, printers, scanners, and applications
• Manage workstation connectivity, communications, and Internet applications
• Schedule and monitor backup jobs, correct issues, report critical data metrics, and maintain storage health
• Administer end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Perform server and security audits
• Analyze system, server, application, and network performance
• Support capacity planning and long-term systems and software strategy
• Support application development teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage server scalability, availability, and performance
• Configure storage for performance, backup and restore operations, and cost-effective resource utilization
• Install patches and upgrades to server hardware, firmware, and software
• Manage integration, load, stress, and user acceptance testing
• Manage physical storage media, file systems, server disk drives, and tape backup devices
• Negotiate with vendors, outsource rs, and contractors for network products and services
• Monitor and test network performance and provide statistics and reports
• Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Coordinate with end users and technical staff to implement secure systems aligned with business objectives
• Generate metrics and project and operating status reports
• Provide guidance to less experienced personnel
• Support user training, documentation, and post-implementation technical assistance
• Provide service desk and technical support
• Perform routine to moderately complex systems and application problem analysis and resolution
• Maintain helpdesk records in the ticket management system
• Protect confidential organizational information

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, mathematics, information technology, computer sciences, a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least one (1) year of directly related experience in systems administration
• Experience with principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases of installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of IT and business systems
• Experience in current principles and practices of system administration
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to interact successfully with all levels of management, IT professionals, and end-users
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Active DOD security clearance or ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment

Demonstrates expertise in systems administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, while ensuring high availability and security. Proficient in managing server performance, user access, and providing technical support aligned with business objectives.
