Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're seeking an experienced AFSIM Engineer to join a dynamic team.

The AFSIM Engineer develops, integrates, and executes mission‑level simulation models to evaluate operational concepts, system performance, and mission effectiveness. This role partners closely with systems engineering and cross‑discipline engineering teams to translate mission goals into simulation scenarios, assess trade spaces, and provide analysis products that support requirements development and program decisions. The engineer produces clear, repeatable analysis workflows, documents assumptions and data sources, and helps establish a digital thread from mission objectives through modeling results.

Key

responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute mission‑level models and scenarios using AFSIM to support a Digital Design Reference Mission (DDRM) / digital mission engineering efforts.
  • Identify and analyze Measures of Performance (MOPs), Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and implement them in simulation workflows.
  • Perform trade studies and analysis of operational alternatives using modeling/simulation to inform requirements, allocations, and decisions.
  • Support verification and validation approaches by using modeling/simulation/analysis, particularly where test, demonstration, or inspection is not cost‑effective.
  • Create and deliver analysis artifacts (e.g., inputs/outputs, assumptions, procedures, and supporting documentation) suitable for program reviews and stakeholder consumption.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Experience performing modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate operational alternatives and system performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate mission needs into measurable outcomes (e.g., MOP/MOE/KPP‑style measures) and analyze results.
  • Ability to document analysis methods and communicate results clearly to technical and program stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience using AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling) to build mission‑level simulations and scenarios.
  • Experience supporting early mission architecture development and "digital thread" work products (e.g., DDRM‑style mission descriptions).
  • Experience applying simulation results to support requirements development and verification/validation strategies.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments approaches for exploring mission trade spaces.
