Position Summary:
K is seeking a motivated and technically capable UI Engineer to support the development, deployment, and sustainment of the GEMSTONE platform. The UI Engineer will help design and develop intuitive, modern, and responsive web applications that enable engineers, analysts, software developers, and mission users to interact with GEMSTONE services and digital assets. The successful candidate will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, software engineers, platform engineers, and government stakeholders to create user experiences that simplify complex technical workflows while maintaining security, scalability, and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain modern web user interfaces supporting GEMSTONE platform capabilities.
* Implement responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences for digital engineering, modeling & simulation, analytics, and data management workflows.
* Develop front-end applications that integrate with REST, GraphQL, and API-driven backend services.
* Collaborate with backend engineers to define and implement service integration patterns.
* Translate UX/UI designs into production-ready web applications.
* Participate in Agile development activities, sprint planning, demos, and peer reviews.
* Develop reusable UI components and shared design patterns.
* Support implementation of role-based and attribute-based access control user experiences.
* Assist with front-end testing, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
* Contribute to CI/CD automation pipelines supporting UI deployment and validation.
* Create and maintain technical documentation and user-facing guidance materials.
* Support deployment and operation of applications within cloud-native Kubernetes environments. Work Environment:

Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Information Systems, UXD, or related technical field.
