General Description

In alignment with NWRESD s mission, this position provides administrative support to the school Principal and other administrators as assigned, and oversees the school office activities in support of services provided to students, families, instruction, and employees. The School-Based Administrative Assistant performs clerical and administrative duties involving word processing, spreadsheets, electronic and paper filing, data entry, and records management for the school.

Considerable public contact is involved, and employees are expected to use skill and judgment in contacts within established policies and procedures. This assignment requires the use of one or more software solutions at an intermediate to advanced level, including assisting school personnel with basic troubleshooting. The role exercises independent thinking, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making in receiving, processing, recording, follow-up, and distribution of information in collaboration with their assigned supervisor.

This position is differentiated from other site-based Administrative Assistants in duties related to state and federal reporting and assigned duties as the High School Registrar and liaison to high school counseling offices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

  • Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to compose a finished product from rough copy or verbal instructions

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through professional development

Experience/Qualifications

  • 1. High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2. Data entry experience in multiple information systems
  • 3. Safety care training required
  • 4. Current First Aid/CPR certification required
  • 5. Valid Driver s License with available transportation and proof of auto insurance
Essential Functions

  • Greet and assist ESD staff, students, families, volunteers, agency partners, and community members in person and by phone; route calls, relay messages, receive and direct visitors, determine priority matters promptly and courteously
