We’re seeking a motivated Buyer I to support our client’s procurement operations in Beaverton, Oregon. In this entry-level professional role, you will be responsible for negotiating favorable terms, securing volume discounts, and managing long-term supplier contracts. You will also prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods, services, and supplies essential to customer-focused business processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to develop a strong foundation in procurement and supply chain management.
Contract: 5 months
Location: Hybrid Model with Fridays remote.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate pricing, terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Prepare, process, and monitor requisitions and purchase orders.
- Support business units in sourcing goods and services that meet operational needs.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure procurement aligns with company policies and goals.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives within the procurement department.
Scope:
- Supports a specific group or team within the procurement function.
Complexity:
- Prioritizes tasks independently using established procedures and standards.
- Shares standard technical or non-technical information with team members and may clarify details to aid understanding.
Problem Solving:
- Handles issues requiring fact-finding, clarification, and basic analysis, typically resolved within existing policies and processes.
Knowledge &
Skills:
- Entry-level professional role providing support within the procurement function.
- Works under general supervision and receives guidance on new assignments.
- Applies established guidelines to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems preferred.
- Experience: Previous internship or experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing is a plus.
