Position Overview

This is a Part-Time position under the direction of the Youth Development Coordinator. The Y-Time Lead is responsible for the supervision and daily operations of Y-Time and potential Kids Night Out program, as well as the supervision and scheduling of staff.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Y-Time Lead works collaboratively with the Youth Development Coordinator to provide a safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate experience for children at the YMCA. This position plays a key role in fostering a welcoming environment while ensuring the well‑being and engagement of all participants.
The role is up to 23 hours per week during the below times:
- Monday - Thursday: 9:15am - 11:45am and 5:15pm - 7:15pm
- Friday and Saturday: 9:15am - 11:45am
Specific hours may vary based on program needs.
Program & Youth Engagement- Engage with youth ages 1-8 in a fun, safe, and supportive environment
- Create, implement, and provide input on youth program curriculum and daily schedules
- Comfortable working with children up to 12 years old, as future Kids Night Out programming may include older age groups
- Establish positive relationships with children and parents
- Maintain accurate rosters and attendance records
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, parents, and participants
- Collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality program delivery
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children
- Enforce YMCA safety regulations and behavior management standards
- Observe and oversee participant activities to minimize risk
- Reliably work varied hours Monday-Sunday
- Commit to building long-term relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members, and families
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead groups effectively
- Model and incorporate YMCA Christian principles into daily work
- Follow directions and organizational procedures
- Relate well to children, parents, and fellow staff members
- Physically and mentally capable of leading athletic and enrichment activities and moving equipment (up to 25 lbs.)
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to emergencies and act swiftly in critical situations
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Prior experience working with youth and parents preferred
- Ability to pass a YMCA background check
- Completion of all required job‑related training within 30 days of hire
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
