Senior Graphic Designer - Basketball (Apparel & Uniforms)

Location:

Greater Portland Area (Onsite, Fridays Remote)

Duration: ~4.5 Month Contract

We're hiring two Senior Graphic Designers to join a high-impact Basketball Design team, working on some of the most visible product in sport—from on-court uniforms to apparel graphics for global collections.

This is a unique opportunity to design for the biggest stage in basketball—creating work seen by athletes and fans around the world. You'll help define the visual language of the game through powerful storytelling, bold graphics, and culturally relevant design.

• Apparel Graphics Designer (Priority) — Focused on broader basketball apparel collections and graphic storytelling.
• Uniform Graphics Designer — Focused on on-court NBA/WNBA uniform systems and performance-driven design.

• Create innovative graphics for basketball apparel and footwear collections.
• Translate basketball culture, athlete insights, and storytelling into compelling visual designs.
• Develop typography, illustration, and graphic systems across seasonal product lines.
• Build presentations, mood boards, and visual narratives for seasonal direction.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, development, and design teams.
• Participate in brainstorms, design reviews, and athlete-focused creative sessions.
• Manage multiple projects across timelines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• 5+ years of experience in graphic design for apparel, product, or related fields.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating:
  • Typography, illustration, and layout expertise.
  • Clear design process and storytelling.
  • Experience designing for physical products (not just digital/branding).
• Deep understanding of basketball, sport, and/or street culture.
• Experience working with athletes or diverse consumer groups.
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

• Experience designing team uniforms or performance apparel.
• Exposure to footwear or head-to-toe product storytelling.
• Familiarity with 3D tools or emerging design technologies (AI, etc.).
• Previous experience with leading sportswear or lifestyle brands.

• Highly creative with a strong point of view.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
• Collaborative, positive, and open to feedback.
• Deeply connected to basketball and cultural trends.
• Strong communicator who can present ideas clearly and confidently.

• Portfolio required for consideration.
• Open to relocation (candidate responsible for relocation costs).
