Senior Color Designer

About the Role

Aquent is partnering with a leading global athletic brand to hire a contract Senior Color Designer supporting multisport categories including football, training, and golf. This is an exciting opportunity to shape seasonal color direction, create compelling product stories, and influence products seen by athletes and consumers around the world. This 30-week contract is ideal for an experienced color designer with footwear or apparel experience, a strong understanding of color theory, and a passion for sport, culture, and trend.

• Create color palettes and color direction for multiple sports categories
• Apply color concepts across footwear and apparel products
• Research consumer, fashion, streetwear, and sports trends
• Translate cultural insights into compelling color stories
• Build presentations and communicate color strategy to stakeholders
• Partner with designers, developers, and product teams throughout the product creation process
• Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
• Contribute to seasonal and long-term color vision initiatives

• 3+ years of color design experience
• Footwear and/or apparel color design experience
• Strong understanding of color theory and color application
• Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to create and communicate color narratives
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Passion for sport, fashion, and streetwear culture
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant color design work

• Experience supporting multiple product categories
• Digital AI or generative design experience
• Color material and finish (CMF) experience
• Experience with seasonal trend forecasting

• Portfolio showcasing relevant color design work (required)
• Must be local to the Portland, OR area

The target hiring compensation for this role is $42- $46.67/hr compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
