The Concert Percussion Instructor  will work in collaboration with the Band Director to provide specialized instruction topercussionstudents in theConcert

Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. This part-time role involves supportingpercussionists in developing strong fundamentals, ensemble skills, and artistic growth through focused coaching once or twice per week per class.

• Create, administer, and evaluatepercussionproficiency and playing tests.

• Assign appropriatepercussionparts forconcertrepertoire.

• Select and prepare chamber ensemble music forpercussionstudents.

• Teach and reinforce proper playing technique across the full range ofpercussioninstruments.

• Instruct students on proper care, storage, and maintenance ofpercussionequipment.

• Support individual and group growth goals as outlined by the Band Director.

• Collaborate with the Band Director on repertoire planning andpercussionpedagogy.

• Attend performances, festivals, and special events when possible.

• Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering musicianship, teamwork, and responsibility.

• Strong background inpercussionperformance and pedagogy.

• Experience working with high school-aged students in an educational or instructional setting.

• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with students, staff, and parents.
