Sr. Designer – Story Design (W2 Contract)

Location: Beaverton, OR (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $48.00 - $52.00/hour W2

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Designer – Story Design to join a fast-paced Retail Design team focused on creating innovative, immersive retail experiences. This role will help shape and deliver compelling retail environments, storytelling concepts, displays, fixtures, and spatial design solutions that elevate the consumer experience.

The ideal candidate is a creative leader with a strong background in retail, experiential, environmental, or architectural design and a passion for bringing brand stories to life through physical spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creative development of retail environments, experiences, and storytelling concepts.
• Create innovative design solutions for store environments, fixtures, displays, and immersive experiences.
• Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, presentations, and visual storytelling materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, brand, retail, development, and external partners.
• Ensure projects align with business objectives, creative vision, timelines, and budgets.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, materials, and experience design innovations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in retail, experiential, environmental, architectural, or brand design.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience leading complex design projects from concept through execution.
• Strong portfolio showcasing retail environments, experiential design, and storytelling work.
• Expert proficiency with:
• Adobe Illustrator
• Keynote
• Excellent visual communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with:
• After Effects
• Figma
• Sketch Up
• Rhino
• Grasshopper
• V-Ray
• AR/VR technologies
• Previous retail industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience designing large-scale consumer or brand experiences.
