Art Director, Retail Story Design

Location:

Beaverton, OR (Hybrid) - 4 days onsite per week, 1 day remote

Compensation Range: $60-63/hr Join an Iconic Global Athletic Brand to lead the evolution of consumer-driven retail story design across immersive environments and digital platforms. You will bridge high-level concept strategy with hands-on execution, guiding junior designers and presenting game-changing concepts to senior leadership. This is your chance to shape non-seasonal storytelling for retail spaces on a global scale.

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end design development for environmental graphics, fixtures, and digital retail experiences to elevate brand storytelling.

Direct and mentor junior design talent to foster creative growth and deliver cohesive, high-impact concepts.

Partner with cross-functional creative teams and external vendors to ensure projects meet creative intent, timelines, and budgets.

Present fully realized spatial concepts and visual materials to senior leadership to drive strategic alignment.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of brand design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design/visual communications; includes at least 3 years of management experience.

Bachelors/master's degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Retail industry experience preferred, retail environments, concepts, and programs. International experience beneficial.

Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or sensitive topics and concepts to senior creative team.

Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development through ideation.

Passion for current trends in Technology, Design, Art, Interactive and Experience Design.

Can-do attitude with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.

A sense of humor and a positive spirit.

Skills:

2D, Art Direction, Storyboarding, Graphic Design, Environmental, Furniture Design, Interactive, Print, Retail.

Professional Skillsets Must have:
Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote.

Nice to have:
After Effects, Premiere, Miro, Figma, Sketch Up, Unreal Engine.
