GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

In alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, this position assists the school principal in directing and managing the instructional program as well as assisting in the supervision of operations and personnel at the campus and program level. This position assists the Principal in providing leadership, supervision, and evaluation of the instructional program for the school.
The Assistant Principal works to foster a positive, inclusive learning climate in the school by
ensuring the systematic improvement and evaluation of instructional programs that respond to
student, school, and District needs. The role contributes to an effective, comprehensive,
District-wide integrated educational and student development program by
directing the development and effective implementation of applicable program elements at the
site and program level, and ensuring a fluid experience for students and parents throughout
their varied transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Valid Oregon TSPC Administrative License or ability to obtain license within timeline specified by district.
  • Master's Degree in Education Leadership, Special Education, or School Administration
  • Minimum three years of experience leading evidence-based Tier 3 social-emotional or behavioral support practices (e.g., district behavior support teams, specialized classrooms, and/or special school programs) preferred.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and culturally responsive practices.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with leading and implementing school attendance interventions, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience leading Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), instructional leadership, and coaching and modeling effective instructional strategies.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
  • Confer regularly with immediate supervisor.
  • Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital tools, including Google Workspace (G Suite) and emerging tools such as educational AI platforms, for communication, data analysis, and instructional or systems-level support.
