Chess Instructor | Fall

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after‑school enrichment program teaching elementary students chess. The position is for the Fall season, with interviews for sessions starting late summer/early fall.

• Competitive pay: $50–$75 per class (typical class time ~1 hour 30 minutes, including setup and post‑class duties)
• Flexible hours: 1–5 classes per week, weekdays 2:00‑5:00 PM at local schools
• Travel compensation: mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one‑way

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students, keeping them engaged and managing classroom behavior
• Use a structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote sportsmanship
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment
• Encourage problem‑solving, creativity, and critical thinking
• Follow school safety protocols, supervising arrivals, dismissals, and in‑class activities
• Travel to various local school sites for each session
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students

• Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, etc.)
• Comfortable leading a class independently, offering interactive, friendly, and fun sessions
• Professional, positive, kid‑friendly demeanor
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain concepts clearly to young learners
• Ability to relate chess problem‑solving to real‑life problem‑solving
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations
• Availability weekday afternoons 2:00‑5:00 PM, teaching 1–5 classes per week as scheduled
• Commitment to school safety protocols and a record of reliability and punctuality
