Responsibilities
  • Develop processes and procedures for high complexity assemblies to meet customers' requirements
  • Design tools, jigs and fixtures for electromechanical assembly processes
  • Identify the opportunity, evaluate, procure, install and qualify new automation/capital equipment
  • Lead efforts to improve utilization of existing equipment
  • Support and improve manual soldering and assembly operations
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Actions for defects, yield improvement and escapes
  • Continuously improve tooling design guidelines and reuse libraries
  • Lead the validation and verification of new production tooling/fixturing
  • Ensure all equipment has the optimal preventative maintenance defined and establish new procedures
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, working with both internal and external support to resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
  • Collect, analyze and drive action from manufacturing data
  • Utilize Design of Experiments to establish new processes and drive improvements to existing
  • Support production technicians and operators on issues that arise
  • Both lead and support process improvement efforts with the team
Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Engineering Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related discipline. Or equivalent experience.
  • Customer service orientated (internal and external) with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in an electronics manufacturing setting
  • Hands on knowledge of SMT & Through-Hole Soldering, Component Prep, Automated Inspection Systems, Wash & Cleanliness, Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Coating/Staking/Bonding, etc.
  • High proficiency in part constraints, dimensioning, tolerancing and GD&T
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing tools and fixtures
  • Demonstrated experience selecting and qualifying new automated/capital equipment
  • Practical knowledge of equipment and process qualification using IQ, OQ, PQ or similar
  • Demonstrated experience setting up and executing DOE's
  • Deep understanding of SPC and manufacturing data analysis
  • Strong understanding of material science as it relates to material selection, solder, flux, adhesives, etc
  • Experience in an ISO
    9001 / AS9100 / ISO
    13485 certified quality management system
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, and/or ANSI/ESD S20.20
  • Proficiency in business systems such as MES, PLM, ERP, MRB
