Senior Mechanical Engineer

** The role, at a glance:
** The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides significant expertise on complex electro-mechanical   engineering design and acts as a professional resource for core New Product   Development/Introduction (NPD/I) team. Designs, develops, tests, and qualifies a variety of   mechanical solutions for audio-visual products.

** How you'll contribute:
** Review customer requirements and create measurable technical specifications that can be achieved through design process

Work with stage and gate process to develop new products that fulfill customer requirements and meet technical specifications
* Product development and release experience required
* Experience with analytical tools like FEA, CFD, DOE, Six Sigma (DMAIC) highly desirable
* Experience with material selection (plastics, metals, adhesives) and manufacturing processes
* Prototype building experience with common wood and metal shop tools, 3D printing, creating new test apparatus and procedures is very useful
* Ability to contribute to the improvement of strategic engineering processes
* Ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
* Able to solve complex problems; make decisions based on the analysis of multiple information sources
* Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion

Education:

Undergraduate college degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations; advanced degree, such as Masters degree in Mechanical engineering, is desirable

Experience:

Minimum of eight years of mechanical engineering design experience with manufactured products

Demonstrated expertise in developing complex engineering solutions; electro-mechanical product design experience including PCB’s, wire harness and cable interconnect, passive and active heat transfer, loudspeakers, structural electronics chassis enclosures is highly desirable

Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling required;
Solid Works required including product configuration management;
Adobe Illustrator required
