Location:

Beaverton, OR (Onsite - 5 days/week). Duration: ~12-month contract.

Overview

Product Test Engineer II (Contract)

We're seeking a Product Test Engineer II to support hands‑on testing and validation of consumer products in a fast‑paced lab environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with physical products, running tests, analyzing data, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality and performance.

You will play a key role in evaluating product durability and performance, helping teams make informed decisions throughout the product development process.

What You'll Do
  • Perform hands‑on materials and mechanical testing in a lab environment.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment to evaluate product performance and durability.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, including statistical analysis.
  • Create clear, concise test reports and communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with product development and engineering teams to support product validation.
  • Assist in improving test methods, processes, and lab efficiency.
  • Support multiple testing projects in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2‑4 years of experience in product testing, materials testing, or lab‑based engineering work.
  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical or materials testing equipment (e.g., Instron or similar).
  • Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to biomechanics or human performance testing.
  • Experience with consumer product testing (e.g., footwear, apparel, or similar).
  • Familiarity with CAD or product design concepts.
  • Experience using statistical methods to analyze test results.
