Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate quantity takeoffs and developing unit cost pricing, while collaborating with engineers to understand project scopes.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents.

+ Perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.

+ Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc., to utilize in estimates.

+ Input estimate takeoff information for specific disciplines and develop unit cost pricing.

+ Work with engineers to develop a clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimates.

+ Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.

+ Assist senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient and seek ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.

+ Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized manner.

+ Maintain and update the data library of costs.

+ Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience as an estimator in Manufacturing and/or Mechanical/Electrical/Process Piping contracting.

+ Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

+ Seven years of relevant experience.

+ Working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure.

+ Working knowledge of a commercially available construction cost estimating system.

+ Understanding and utilization of Information Technology in the performance of work, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, RA, or any appraisal licensure is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $67.00/hr.
