Automation Technician

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Automation Technician who will work as part of the Control Soft team building and testing robotic & automation solutions for our customer client base. The successful candidate will assemble, test, troubleshoot, document and commission our automation solutions. Control Soft offer a complete solution from the Factory Floor to the Cloud utilizing our internal departments for Automation, Electrical & Mechanical Design and Build, Robotics and Software Development. Our highly experienced team of Engineers have a wealth of knowledge spanning decades in various fields.

Control Soft are developing the panel building business of the future utilising 3D panel design to facilitate semi-automated control panel manufacturing.

• Working from the design drawings to perform the mechanical and electrical assembly of bespoke machines
• Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic debug of machines
• Liaise and communicate with the different project team members
• Responsible for the quality of the build
• Responsible for ensuring that machine build timelines and targets are achieved
• Factory & Site Acceptance Testing
• Checking of incoming parts and supplier components
• Site commissioning and handover
• Plan and prioritise work, across multiple projects, and ensure completion.
• Work with multi-discipline teams to achieve project and company goals.
• Collaborate with project teams, sharing knowledge and working on problem solving.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement within the department and across the business.
• Must be a self starter with a good attention to detail, willing to take ownership and responsibility to realise project milestones.

• FETAC Level 7 in Mechanical/Fitting or similar discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
• Capable of clearly understanding the functionality of the equipment being built
• Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions both mechanically and electrically
• A high degree of craft skill with the ability to setup machines to fine tolerances to produce the desired results
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient computer skills in MS office, experience with mechanical and electrical CAD software is an advantage
• Full Driver’s License is required
