Personal Caregivers ensure the safety, dignity, and quality of life for residents with memory impairments by providing direct care, emotional support, and at times companionship. Key responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and dressing, monitoring resident health, fostering a positive and stimulating environment and supporting residents families as needed. A personal caregiver provides the facility with a continuous stream of information regarding resident status needs and issues.

- Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and getting to and from activities and meals according to the individual Service Plan and needs.
- Assist residents maintain a comforting routine that supports their well-being.
- Observe and document any changes in a resident s condition, including behavior, mood and physical health.
- Meticulousness in observing any health changes, following care plans and keeping accurate records.
- Maintain vigilance for minor changes and ensure clear and effective communication of these changes to appropriate team members.
- Responds to residents needs in a timely manner.
- Protecting both the dignity and quality of life of Maryville residents.
- Assisting other caregivers and Med Tech in caring for residents, as needed.
- Ensuring proper safety and sanitation guidelines are followed at all times.
- Complete required training as assigned.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and facility policies and guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion or Pre-Service Dementia Care, Infection Prevention, Home and Community Based Services & Individually Based Limitations, and Inclusivity Training (can be completed at time of hire)
- First Aid and Abdominal Thrust Certification (within 30 days of hire).
- Complete continuous Relias Training as assigned for the caregiver position.
- Works in temperature-controlled office areas, but frequently moves through the entire facility, including patient rooms, and common lobbies.
- Characterized by moderate noise levels with frequent interruptions.
- Required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull or move at least 50 pounds independently.
- Participate in patient transfers or evacuations, which can involve moving up to 200 pounds with assistance or equipment.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases (e.g., Hepatitis
B), chemical cleaning solutions, and medical waste, requiring strict adherence to HIPAA and infection control protocols. - Requires regular bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling.
