HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
As a member of the Multicultural Counseling team, the Mental Health Clinician provides culturally sensitive mental health services. Their role involves helping clients n avigate cultural and language barriers to access necessary mental health, medical, social, and educational services.
- Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counseling to individuals, families, and groups
- Maintain active case load including case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments todeterminetreatment needsand referrals to medication management or other adjunctive services (e.g.support group, peer support, case management)
- Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
Collaborate with consumer supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others asindicatedon an ongoing basis - Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served
- Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members, andfacilitatedevelopment of a positive staff support network
HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Art Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field.
- LPCA or QMHP, LPC
- Standard LCSNW criminal clearance,including national sex offender, ORCHARDS, SAM/OIGrequired.
