Activities Assistant job verton, OR. Maryville, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, has an opening for an energetic and congenial activities assistant. Full or part‑time positions can be accommodated. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekend availability.

- Carry out activity programs as identified in the monthly calendar and as instructed by the activities director.
- Conduct group activities with the support and direction of the activities director.
- Provide one‑to‑one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting.
- Coordinate with the activities director and other staff to bring residents to and from activities and events.
- Ensure copies of the calendar are posted throughout the facility and available to each resident, his or her families, and friends.
- Assist in decorating for the holidays with help from residents and volunteers and help carry out special events.
- Maintain activity equipment and supplies, and organize the activity storage areas in an orderly and clean manner.
- Step in for the activities director when necessary and assist in carrying out activity programs.
- Help organize quarterly special events that include residents, families, friends, and the community at large.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience working in the long‑term care setting.
- Experience working with individuals living with physical or cognitive disabilities, including individuals with dementia.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to establish strong rapport with Maryville residents and their families and friends.
- Must have an abundance of patience.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents, staff, and volunteers.
- Proven track record of reliable attendance and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to read and write in English, including the ability to read and interpret documents such as care plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 45 pounds on an infrequent basis, as well as walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.
- The ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time, and the ability to pass the background check required of all campus employees.
