We have a unique opportunity for a Patient Access Specialist to join our team at The Injury Clinic
, formally known as Go To Ortho, a walk-in orthopedic urgent care clinic located in Lake Oswego, Oregon and Beaverton, Oregon

Schedule

12-hour shifts. Rotating schedule:
Monday-Wednesday & Sunday-Tuesday.

Responsibilities

You will be the welcoming and efficient first point of contact for our patients. You will be instrumental in managing patient flow, handling essential paperwork, and navigating the complexities of insurance and referrals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Patient Communication & Scheduling
  • Fielding, routing, and triaging patient calls with professionalism and empathy, directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Scheduling patient appointments accurately and efficiently, as well as coordinating calls for providers.
  • Reviewing future schedules proactively and making necessary adjustments to optimize provider availability and patient access.
  • Scheduling interpreters for future and current patient appointments.
  • Reviewing the next day's schedule to ensure all appointments are scheduled correctly.
Administrative Front Office Duties
  • Creating new patient charts completely and accurately in our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Checking patients in and out and reviewing patient contact form requests.
  • Prepping paperwork for future appointments.
  • Monitoring EMR inboxes for assigned tasks.
  • Checking voicemail inboxes.
  • Managing the clinics shared email inbox.
  • Clearing all scan piles and the fax queue daily.
  • Scanning proof of delivery and procedure consents to the authorization coordinator before the end of the day (EOD).
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, and be able to maneuver in small areas.
  • Possess gross and fine motor skills for typing, writing, and precise movements.
  • Frequently reach at, below, and/or over waist level.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills with patients, families, and coworkers.

This position will work closely with our team of X-Ray Techs, Medical Assistants, Providers, and Front Office Staff.

Requirements Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a healthcare administrative or customer service role, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorization processes.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general office software.
  • Familiarity and ability to comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to reliably commute to Lake Oswego, OR and Beaverton, OR.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Multiligual
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation procedures.
