Job Description Summary
This position reports directly to MUSC’s Enterprise Chief Well-being Officer and provides clinical and programmatic leadership for enterprise workforce mental health and well-being programs and services. The position applies advanced expertise in healthcare workforce mental health, behavioral health, burnout, trauma-informed care, psychological safety, and evidence-based workplace well-being to oversee the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of enterprise programming, consultation services, peer support initiatives, educational offerings, and behavioral health vendor partnerships.
Working collaboratively with the Enterprise Chief Well-being Officer and Executive Director of Enterprise Well-being Strategy & Operations, this position ensures workforce mental health and well-being programming is evidence-based, aligned with organizational priorities, and responsive to the evolving needs of the MUSC Enterprise.

Work ShiftJob Description PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Leads the strategic development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Center for Workplace Well-being’s enterprise workforce mental health programs, consultation services, trainings, resources, and evidence-based interventions that positively impact the mental health and well-being of care team members, faculty, staff, students, and leaders across the MUSC Enterprise.
Promotes a culture of well-being while strengthening the organization’s prevention of and response to predictable sources of workplace stress, burnout, and trauma. This includes enhancing access to behavioral and mental health resources, reducing stigma, improving help-seeking behaviors, and supporting psychologically healthy work environments.
Provides executive oversight for the Well-being Clinician Team, ensuring workforce mental health programming, consultation services, educational offerings, referral processes, and psychological support resources are evidence-based, consistently delivered, and aligned with the Center for Workplace Well-being’s strategic priorities and Enterprise goals related to employee experience.
Provides executive oversight of the Stress First Aid and Peer Support Programs, ensuring consistent implementation, quality, and continuous improvement across the enterprise. Guides the development of innovative in-person and virtual well-being programming, consultation services, stress management resources, and educational offerings that address the evolving needs of the MUSC workforce.
Partners with the Enterprise Chief Well-being Officer, Executive Director of Enterprise Well-being Strategy & Operations, and clinical and administrative leaders across the MUSC Enterprise to implement, evaluate, and advance the Center for Workplace Well-being’s strategic priorities. Provides specialized expertise and consultation on healthcare workforce mental health, workplace well-being, and evidence-based organizational interventions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical and Programmatic Leadership – 20%
- Directs enterprise mental health and well-being programming for MUSC employees, learners, faculty, and leaders.
- Provides advanced subject matter expertise in healthcare workforce mental health, burnout, psychological safety, trauma-informed care, behavioral health interventions, and evidence-based well-being programming.
- Provides specialized clinical consultation to the Enterprise Chief Well-being Officer and organizational leaders regarding workforce mental health, behavioral health programming, and complex employee and learner support needs.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director – Faculty Well-being to align faculty mental health and well-being strategy, programming, research, and evaluation across the university.
