Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develops code, configures applications, and defines job schedules for high-risk, highly complex requirements. Installs software and software updates for critical systems.
• Executes and is responsible for the deployment of code across environments.
• Approves and conducts design and code reviews.
• May review and approve test plan, test execution, and validation of test.
• Creates critical-path, high-risk, advanced and/or cross-functional technical designs.
• Collaborates with other teams on integration needs/design.
• Contributes to database design and ensures consistent technical approach within the department.
• Participates and contributes to overall architectural footprint, direction, and standards.
• Performs application support, problem solving, and issue resolution with internal and external resources.
• Contributes to technical solutions by performing technical analysis and identifying options and solutions.
• Contributes to the RFP process;
  Identifies technical issues and determines options for issue resolution and risk mitigation.
• Defines and communicates requirements for technical environments and determines the technical scope for projects.
• Creates and applies architecture, governance, security, and global process standards to system changes and deployments.
• Establishes process standards for system changes and deployments.
• Establishes, maintains, and applies coding/configuration standards and best practices.
• Conducts performance monitoring and analyzes performance against benchmarks.
• Analyzes business requirements and creates performance testing scenarios that ensure application performance meets customer needs.
• Reviews and approves performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results.

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 8 or 9 years of directly relevant work experience.
• One of the following alternatives may be accepted:
  PhD or Law degree 6 years of experience;
  Master's degree and 7 years of experience;
  Associate's degree and 9 years of experience;
  High School diploma/GED and 10 years of experience.
• Must haves: AWS, Azure, Git Hub, Puppet, Jenkins, SUSE Linux.
• Must be proficient in scripting and use of configuration tools.
• Nice to have:
  Forge, Basic knowledge of SAP, Terra Form.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
