Kforce has a client located in Beaverton, Oregon (OR) that is seeking an SOW - Expert Process Manager, Sports Science. Overview:
The Expert Data Process Manager - Sports Research is embedded within the Sports Research Lab, partnering closely with researchers, data engineers, analysts, and platform partners to develop and deliver advanced digital concepts and solutions for data related workflows. This role defines data requirements, maps and optimizes research workflows, and ensures that the end to end data ecosystem-from collection through analysis ready outputs-supports scalable, high quality scientific work.

This is a highly collaborative position suited to a systems minded problem solver who thrives in cross functional environments and willing to prototype new workflows and pipelines quickly to drive learnings and test hypotheses.

Responsibilities
  • Map, document and maintain end to end research workflows-from data collection through preprocessing, transformation, and delivery across multiple research functions (e.g., lab, field, retail services)
  • Capture key details about tools, workflows, data structures, and dependencies to show how information moves from collection to insight and identify gaps
  • Translate researcher needs into actionable requirements for data engineers and technology partners
  • Track and communicate the downstream impact of changes to data pipelines, models, or experimental protocols
  • Define clear data requirements for advanced sensing tools, measurement systems, and research data collection technologies
  • Serve as a liaison between Sports Research, the Innovation Data Lab, and Technology partners
  • Evaluate proposed technology solutions against how the users actually use the tools and data
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Data Science, Kinesiology/Biomechanics, Computer Science, Human Performance, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in research data workflows, digital product management, or research operations
  • Proven ability to map complex processes and produce clear technical documentation
  • Experience partnering with data engineers, analysts, or data platform teams
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, data quality methods, and version control practices
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and systems minded
  • Strong facilitator who excels at structured requirements gathering
  • Ability to think and act creatively, methodically, and strategically
  • Ability to lead and drive in ambiguity, showcasing flexibility and adaptability
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with sensor-based research (motion capture, IMU, EMG, force plates) and time series data
  • Experience with wearables, medical devices, robotics or biometric devices
  • Knowledge of biomechanics workflows (kinematics, kinetics, filtering, inverse dynamics) or markerless motion capture
  • Experience in innovation labs, applied sports science, or product creation environments
  • Comfort interpreting Python, MATLAB, or R analysis logic
  • Experience with LIMS/ELN systems or structured research data platforms
  • Background creating SOPs, data contracts, and process maps

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
