Overview
The Data Management, Engineering and Analytics team at David Yurman is responsible for designing and implementing state‑of‑the‑art data management and analytics solutions. We are looking for a Data Scientist to design and build data analytics solutions to support DY’s strategic business goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Query and acquire data required to perform business analysis and identify trends in large data sets to answer business‑critical questions.
- Drive data‑driven decision making by interpreting data and providing actionable insights.
- Develop data mining processes and machine learning models to support analytics for teams such as CRM, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Business Strategy.
- Leverage machine‑learning or other relevant statistical techniques to identify opportunities for business performance improvement.
- Research existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions.
- Work on multiple data integration projects simultaneously and develop appropriate test scripts to validate models and analytics.
- Keep track of technology advancements in ML & AI and bring industry best practices to the team.
- 4‑5+ years of professional experience as a data scientist.
- 5+ years experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
- 3‑5 years experience with quantitative analysis, experimentation, regression, and data mining.
- 3‑5 years experience working with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems.
- Experience with retail analytics using statistical modeling is a plus.
- Self‑starter who can flex when priorities change, collaborate with cross‑functional partners, and contribute to the team’s overall success.
- Strategic thinking, excellent writing, and professional editing skills.
- Experience with reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau or Sigma.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, or a related field.
- Python/R, Snowflake certifications desirable.
New York, NY (Tribeca). Hybrid work model: 3 days in office / 2 days remote.
Estimated Base Salary$140,000‑$155,000. Total compensation may include healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays, generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
