Assortment planning developer

Job Title: Applications Engineer - Niche
Location: Beaverton, OR (Hybrid)

Job Summary: We are seeking an innovative technologist to lead the transformation of critical assortment planning tools within a global sports planning environment. Our team is driving the evolution of a legacy Excel/VBA platform to a robust, AI-augmented, cloud-native solution, supporting high-impact decision-making for demand and assortment planning.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the technical vision to modernize existing assortment planning tools, shifting from legacy solutions to scalable cloud-native architecture.
• Identify and prioritize AI/ML integration opportunities including forecast generation, anomaly detection, and natural-language plan adjustments aligned with business value.
• Design, build, and deliver intuitive data pipelines and user interfaces that streamline planning workflows and reduce manual tasks, ensuring continuity and reliability during transition periods.
• Partner directly with planning stakeholders to rapidly iterate on feedback, maintain current tools during migration, and mentor team members on AI-first development practices.

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with strong proficiency in at least two of:
  Python, Type Script/JavaScript, SQL, or cloud-native frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML in a product or business context, specifically delivering solutions that users depend on not only experimentation.
• Proven ability to modernize legacy tools or processes end-to-end, covering architecture, data layer, user experience, and deployment.
• Experience designing and building data-intensive applications that manage large, structured datasets, aggregation logic, and multi-dimensional planning grids.
