Product Development Engineer 2 - Footwear
LocationPortland, OR (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote; occasional Fridays onsite as needed)
Contract Details- Placement Type: Temporary
- Duration: ~7-month contract
- Salary: $42-46.67 Hourly (up to $46.67/hr)
- Start Date: Jun 8, 2026
We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to support the creation of high-performance, athlete-specific footwear. This role sits at the intersection of product creation, technical development, and athlete service, helping bring innovative concepts to life from design through delivery.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including design, product management, and marketing to deliver premium product experiences aligned to brand standards and athlete expectations.
What You’ll Do- Support end-to-end product development from concept through final delivery
- Translate design intent into production-ready execution
- Manage product development timelines, workflows, and key deliverables
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and execution
- Collaborate with external partners and factories to support product creation
- Maintain a high level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Contribute to high-visibility projects tied to athlete and brand initiatives
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-4 years of experience in product development or a related field
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines and priorities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in footwear or a strong understanding of footwear construction
- Background in retail, consumer products, or athlete service
- Familiarity with product creation tools or systems (e.g., PLM/PCX or similar)
- Experience working with global partners or manufacturing teams
- Passion for sport and product innovation
- Hybrid work model (4 days onsite weekly)
- High-visibility role supporting key product initiatives
- Collaborative team environment with cross-functional exposure
- Interview process: 1-2 rounds
