Software Engineer – NIKE USA Inc. – Beaverton, OR
Build and deliver scalable data and analytics solutions focused on Supply Chain, Consumer, and Marketplace data products.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement supply chain data integration pipelines connecting warehouse management systems, inventory databases, and external catalog systems with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows to ingest, transform, load, and validate high‑volume datasets including on‑hand inventory, order fulfillment, logistics, and distribution data.
- Use Databricks Catalog for data governance and lineage tracking; implement real‑time change data capture and data replication from source systems to cloud data platforms.
- Integrate intelligent automation solutions to enhance data products and enable predictive analytics.
- Contribute to all aspects of data engineering from ingestion to consumption, including designing test‑driven development frameworks, automated workflows, and libraries at scale to support analytics products.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions to process and store high‑volume data sets; drive delivery and implementation of new technologies, manage and evolve the data lake.
- Integrate AI‑powered solutions with collaboration platforms such as Slack to enable real‑time data insights, automated notifications, and conversational analytics.
- Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and business partners; analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
- Develop and maintain API documentation and integration specifications; consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues.
- Coordinate installation of software systems; design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis, machine learning techniques, and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes.
- Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation; modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications; obtain and evaluate information on reporting formats, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration.
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status; recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, or humidity; specify power supply requirements and configuration; store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis.
- Supervise and assign work to programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology and at least 5 years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in this job or in an engineering‑related occupation.
