Data Center Operations Technician Overview

We are seeking experienced Data Center Operations Technicians to support a cutting-edge data center environment working with industry-leading infrastructure and technology. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for technicians who have hands-on experience troubleshooting server hardware, performing rack and stack activities, and supporting large-scale data center operations.

Successful candidates will have a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn from team leads and follow established processes.

• Night Shift Schedule (4x10s)
  • Sunday-Wednesday: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Wednesday-Saturday: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Candidates must be flexible to work either shift based on business needs.

• Move servers, switches, and related equipment to designated installation locations.
• Inspect hardware for damage prior to deployment.
• Perform smoke testing and basic validation of server functionality.
• Rack, stack, and configure servers, switches, and other data center equipment.
• Install and manage structured cabling according to provided wire maps and standards.
• Ensure all cabling is bundled, routed, and documented according to site requirements.
• Collaborate with network teams to validate connectivity and installation accuracy.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate server hardware issues.
• Perform break/fix activities within a production data center environment.
• Install and replace components such as:
  • Network Interface Cards (NICs)
  • Memory
  • Hard Drives/Storage Devices
• Assist with server unboxing, staging, and deployment preparation.
• Conduct inventory audits of servers, spare parts, and consumables.
• Decommission and remove equipment from racks and data center spaces.
• Follow operational procedures and safety standards at all times.

• Minimum 2 years of Data Center Technician experience.
• Proven data center operations experience beyond simple hardware replacement.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and isolating server hardware issues.
• Hands-on break/fix troubleshooting experience in a data center environment.
• Experience with:
  • Rack and stack installations
  • Server configuration
  • Network and power cabling
  • Physical data center infrastructure
• Ability to work closely with network and operations teams.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow direction, accept coaching, and learn from Technical Group Supervisors (TGS) and Leads.

• Linux server troubleshooting experience.
• Cat6 installation and termination experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale or hyperscale data centers.

This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
