Job Summary

The primary responsibility is to lead the team that delivers person-centered care and services to those we support in a residential setting, fulfilling our purpose: “We believe the world shines brighter when people with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential.”

Essential Duties
  • Align passion and talents of others, creating a culture where teams and individuals thrive.
  • Partner with operational leaders, human resources, quality, and nursing.
  • Hire, welcome, onboard, and mentor new colleagues.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and provide necessary training to assure support, quality, and compliance expectations for individuals we support.
  • Develop schedules for program DSPs and Lead DSPs.
  • Identify ways to remove barriers and achieve high levels of engagement.
  • Show recognition and appreciation for staff efforts.
  • Identify additional training and development needs as part of Quarterly Connections and coaching in the moment for performance.
  • Serve as resource for any DSP, Lead DSP, persons we support, or parents & guardians in the home when local home efforts do not resolve a topic.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership behaviors, leading by example to develop individuals, empower teams, and promote collaboration.
  • Engage in admissions of individuals, completing Person Focused Worksheet (PFW), individual support plans (ISP/PSP), and other required procedures and documentation.
  • Complete required Medicaid redeterminations and renewal submissions.
  • Influence the program with a focus on budget and metrics to grow residential services and achieve balanced scorecard results, maintaining collaborative partnerships with colleagues, leadership, PWS, and parents & guardians.
  • Ensure standard Able Light operating procedures and related state/local regulations are implemented consistently across homes in your area of accountability.
  • Manage facilities and property through regular home inspections and vehicle maintenance.
  • Complete all individual training and development and manage training compliance of direct reports required by local, state, federal, and Able Light policies and procedures.
  • Recommend quality and process improvements for employees and those served to enhance standard operating practices.
  • Ensure timely, comprehensive, and objective documentation personally and for direct reports, reviewing entries into health information technology and human resource technology.
  • Track, monitor, and update Individual Support Plans (ISP/PSP) in collaboration with persons supported, parents & guardians, external clinical or local/state representatives and providers, internal nursing and quality partners, and operational leadership.
  • Responsible for Parent/Guardian communication and documentation.
  • Deliver person-centered care and services to those we serve.
Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent four years of relevant IDD experience (may vary by state).
  • Experience:

    Four years of supervisory or case management experience (may vary by state); two to three years of previous leadership experience; two to three years of IDD experience.
Travel/Flexibility

Ability to be flexible on hours and residential settings in your local community to assist colleagues and those we serve.
