Support an event that lifts up vulnerable populations.
About the ProgramThe Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) mission is to help Oregonians in their own communities achieve well-being and independence through opportunities that protect, empower, respect choice, and preserve dignity. The dedication of volunteers plays a vital role in our work, helping the agency fulfill its mission and achieve its goals for Oregonians. Your support strengthens our impact, allowing us to better serve the community and make a meaningful difference.
Aboutthe Project
ODHS hosts a "Meet the Employer" event annually to recruit for new employees to join our mission in uplifting Oregon's most vulnerable populations. This event is a great opportunity to learn about what types of employment we have, and what the agency is currently recruiting for.
The event runs from 12pm to 2pm, with event prep and break down before and after the event. Volunteers will help with event set‑up and break‑down, checking in the participants, crowd control, helping with keeping the agenda going, etc. Volunteers will gain knowledge about how ODHS helps community members in need and what types of staff ODHS has to support our vulnerable community.
They will also learn about day‑of‑event coordination skills.
