Job Position

Description:

Are you a natural relationship-builder with a passion for removing barriers to essential services? Community Action is seeking a Utility Assistance Outreach Coordinator to drive awareness and accessibility for our Utility Assistance program. In this role, you will be the bridge between our services and the households that need them most, working creatively to ensure our community stays powered, safe, and stable.

Abbreviated

Duties List:
  • Design, coordinate, and staff community enrollment events, pop-ups, and presentations that meet clients where they are.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with libraries, faith communities, local government agencies, and culturally specific organizations across Washington County.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Communications team to create effective messaging and materials for social media and traditional outreach channels.
  • Act as the vital link between our internal Utility Assistance team and external partners to improve referral pathways and resolve access issues.
  • Provide training and ongoing updates to internal staff and partner organizations to ensure they are equipped to support enrollment.
  • Analyze outreach data to identify trends and gather feedback from the community, recommending strategic adjustments to increase program participation.
Abbreviated Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Human Services, Communications, or Public Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community outreach, social services, public benefits navigation, or a closely related role.
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining trust with community partners and diverse populations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain program details clearly to both individuals and large groups.
  • Intermediate skills in office technology, including databases, spreadsheets, email, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to travel locally to outreach sites and community events; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
