Overview

Starting Base Salary Range of $70,000 to $85,000 (DOE).

Position

Quality Engineer 1

By providing team members with tools, training, information, analysis, processes, and problem-solving expertise, our Quality Engineers serve as stewards of our brand, ensure the highest levels of quality, and drive world-class operational efficiency. Roles may focus in New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, Metrology, or Supplier Quality.

Responsibilities
  • Follow written procedures and work instructions; make suggestions for improvements.
  • Design inspection and test equipment and provide work instructions and training as needed.
  • Assist in product testing and ensure testing supports project timing.
  • Collaborate to create product test plans that validate specifications.
  • Purchase gauges and inspection/test equipment as needed.
  • Participate in Gauge Capability and Process Capability Studies and perform analysis.
  • Assign appropriate inspection equipment and methods to measure components and products.
  • Create and revise SPC, AQL, Skip-Lot, Audit Test Plans, and Control Plans.
  • Respond to SPC alarms and Quality Alerts.
  • Modify programs used on inspection equipment to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Help team members interpret inspection results.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities using scientific methods (e.g., 8D).
  • Monitor operational and quality data; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform audits in manufacturing, assembly, office, and supplier settings.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support suppliers and problem-solving activities.
  • Participate, document, and advise on Supplier Selection and Qualification activities.
  • Ensure compliance and documentation to Regulatory and/or Industry Standards (e.g., CE, FDA, ASTM, SAE).
  • Any other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1 year minimum experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T
  • Understanding of statistical fundamentals
  • Understanding of measurement systems analysis
  • Understanding of SPC
  • Experience with analytical software (Excel, Minitab, Northwest Analytics, QC Cal Weibull++)
  • Experience with productivity software (Office Suite, Solid Works)
