Position Type – Full‑Time;
Salary Range – $21.13 – $27.46 per hour;
Shift – Day (8:00AM to 4:00PM).

The Deli Cook at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service by performing various cooking tasks—boiling, steaming, deep frying, and preparation of food. He/she assembles items such as sandwiches and sushi while maintaining high service standards.

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Prep food products for cooking in all Deli areas.
• Cook ready‑to‑eat items following instructions and recipes.
• Ensure adherence to health department and company policies for a safe environment.
• Prepare and package deli condiments for hot and cold cases.
• Wrap, label, and price products accurately.
• Display prepared foods attractively in hot and cold cases.
• Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Monitor inventory levels and inform management of low inventory or spoilage.
• Assist customers in serving food items and control product shrinkage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay: $22.44/hr (depending on experience). Pay Range: $22.44 – $27.46/hr.

Uwajimaya participates in E‑Verify to confirm employment eligibility.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; may require up to 1 year of specialized training.
• Food Handler’s Card required.
• Prior retail experience and knowledge of Asian products preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten‑key/calculator, and comfort using computers.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and work independently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
