Assistant Store Manager

Summary

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions are responsible for fulfilling Buckle's mission to create an enjoyable shopping experience. Duties include sales, merchandising, operations, cashiering, display setup, cleaning, recruiting, training, and acting as store manager in the manager’s absence.

Pay Range: $21–$27 per hour (base rate plus commission on sales). Final offers are based on skill, experience, location, and qualifications.

• Greet guests, provide service, recommend merchandise, and share product knowledge.
• Meet personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals.
• Maintain product displays and cleanliness of the store.
• Recruit, train, and develop teammates; manage shift orientation and daily tasks.
• Lead by example and demonstrate showmanship and customer service.
• Own visual merchandise zones, execute new tools, and improve store appearance.
• Handle opening and closing duties, inventory checks, and loss prevention procedures.
• Support team growth: conduct interviews, give feedback, and facilitate training.
• Travel to other stores within the district if required.
• Assist the Store Manager in supervising and fulfilling mission statement.

High school diploma or GED. One to three months of retail experience and/or customer service training. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

• No visa sponsorship available; relocation may be required.
• Must own a valid driver’s license and be able to travel, including overnight stays.

• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, reach, climb, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
• Occasional sitting allowed.
• Must perform job duties with required physical effort.
